All Inclusive Spa Weekend: The Lodge at Woodloch

A Girlfriend All Inclusive Spa Getaway Review

Is there any better girl’s trip than an all inclusive spa weekend? Honestly, any trip with my girlfriends is special. But there is just something about a relaxed spa trip with your besties. The added bonus – having most of the expenses built in to the rate by picking an all inclusive. That helps everyone budget and there is no stress about splitting extra costs. What you may not know is that a luxury spa is just a couple of hours from the New York City area in the Poconos. I didn’t until recently and am so glad a friend recommended it.

Woodloch has multiple properties on its property including a very family friendly resort. For this review, I am focusing exclusively on the Lodge at Woodloch. This is the most friendly, efficient, and lovely spa resort catering to adults (no children under 16 are permitted). If you are looking for a place for a couples spa weekend or girls weekend that is also all inclusive, Woodloch is worth looking at.

Arrival and Overall Vibe

Driving onto the Woodloch property brings a sense of peace and tranquility. Being in the woods of the Poconos sets a great vibe regardless of the season you are visiting. And the staff, from the front gate right up to the front desk are the most friendly and welcoming staff I have come across.

You begin to decompress as the staff unloads your car and welcomes your whole party by name. Entering the lobby your feel like you are entering a luxury, mountain home. Mobile phones are not allowed in the common areas giving a wonderful, off-the-grid vibe and allowing you to really disconnect and recharge.

At the front desk, the staff has each guests itinerary printed (if you pre-booked any classes or spa appointments). You also get the low down on the events of the day and meals. With our new Lodge at Woodloch totes and water bottles, we were ready to settle in and get into zen mode. Let the all inclusive girls spa weekend commence!

Accommodations at the Lodge at Woodloch

With a rustic chic décor, the rooms at the Lodge at Woodloch are well appointed and comfortable. You get a good amount of space to spread out and the bathrooms were gorgeous and large. Plenty of space to relax and unwind in the evening and in between activities.

With only a limited number of rooms, it is quiet and peaceful and getting some air on the balcony was a great way to start each morning. It is not a huge resort, which is one of the things we loved most about it. So you do need to plan ahead.

Spa Services

For our girls trip, we were seeking a luxury spa and the Lodge at Woodloch is just that. When you enter the spa area you are immediately offered crystal infused water and the staff is very accommodating with spa appointments and changes if needed. If you have specific treatments in mind, I highly recommend booking your appointments before you even arrive at the Lodge, especially if you are trying to coordinate times with your travel companions. Here is the link to the spa menu.

But even if you aren’t doing additional treatments, the spa area offers wonderful amenities including an indoor pool, outdoor pool, multiple hot tubes (indoors and out), saunas, steam rooms, tranquility areas, etc. Plus Woodlock specifically offers a Himalayan Salt Sauna and a Snow Room. Both are a must try!

Fitness and Wellness Activities

If you are someone that suffers from the fear of missing out, be warned the Lodge at Woodloch may induce some FOMO. Every week they publish a list of classes and activities and there is so much being offered it can be very hard to choose.  There are fitness classes for all levels. Art and creativity sessions. Mindfulness and stretching sessions. And of course you can always go for a self-guided hike, bike ride, birding, archery, and disc golf.

The amenities available for individual use plus the schedule of activities and events means anybody should be able to find something to do. For us, the hard part was fitting it all in and still having some quiet down time.

Seasonal Food & Beverages At An All Inclusive

One of my biggest concerns with any all-inclusive resort is will the food be any good? Tree restaurant at the Lodge was truly gourmet quality. The dinner menu does change each night so no matter the length of stay you should have lots to choose from. My friends and I can be very picky about food quality and preparation but we were extremely pleased with breakfast, lunch and dinner. Plus snacks are put out in the afternoon which offer a nice little treat in between activities and treatments.

You also get a good portion, also something some may be concerned about with a spa, and can always order an additional appetizer or dessert if you are feeling it (or can’t make up your mind like we had happen). With a seasonal and farm-to-table feel it is a beautiful dining experience. I also understand that if you wish, it is possible to venture to one of the other Woodloch properties if you are looking to change it up. But do inquire about this with the lovely staff.

Beyond the food, the drink options are also creative and delicious. It is important to note that some beverages are at an additional cost – specifically the therapeutic lattes, any alcoholic beverages, and kombucha. If you do enjoy an alcoholic drink, the seasonal cocktails are creative and delightful. The wine list also offers some wonderful selections (and don’t forget to read my blog on navigating a wine list before you go).

Why I Recommend the Lodge at Woodloch for an All Inclusive Spa Weekend

Especially for anyone in the New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania area the Lodge at Woodloch is a luxury spa resort experience that doesn’t require airports. And each season does offer something special. We visited in early Summer and thanks to great weather, got to enjoy a lot of time both indoors and out on the grounds of the Lodge. I even started my visit with a little quiet time by the pool with a seasonal cocktail.

The staff is beyond accommodating, the facilities are well kept, the activities offer something for everyone. It is adults only which is perfect to me for a girls or couples trip where part of the goal is some relaxing time. You also will be spoiled by the food, drinks and scenery. I for one am anxious to get back there in the near future and can not recommend the all inclusive spa weekend more. And if you have the flexibility, go mid-week as it will likely be a little less crowded and even more special.
